We are looking to appoint a dynamic and motivated technician with a strong mechanical background from a fitter and Turner, Toolmaker or other metals Trade, and ideally with a limited Electrical License.

About the role

The objective of this role is work as the Service and Maintenance Lead in Australia for the Diemme Filtration business.  You will be responsible for:

• Investigating, trouble shooting and fault finding
• Preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and reporting on findings
• Conduct and carry out upgrades, new installations, and short to long term maintenance projects
• Thoroughly scoping maintenance and repair jobs and reporting on material/labour requirements for jobs to be quoted and executed safely.
• Executing projects and machine shut-downs – starting tasks and projects, and seeing it through till the end
• Supervise (if necessary) the installation and startup / commissioning of Diemme Filtration scope of supply
• Assist clients with technical support of filters by remote assistance and periodical visits
• Troubleshoot issues associated with filter presses and other scope of supply items (initially to be guided from Italy)
• Maintain positive business relationships, and build rapport and positive working relationships with customer and other stakeholders
• Assist customers with spare parts management and strategies with the aim to increase machine reliability and in the meantime increase SP business
• Visit prospective clients periodically and also with the Sales Director, Area sales manager and / or representatives to support the sale with respect to Services capabilities

Success in this position will require a deep understanding of our products, services, and our customer’s needs. We seek candidates that have worked in service and maintenance in Mining, major manufacturing or other heavy industries.

Specific competencies for this position include a Fitter / Turner (or similar) trade qualification with additional skills or training in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Engineering or other relevant skills. A dual trade Electrician or limited Electrical license would be a significant advantage.

• Ability to read and interpret technical data and documents such as safety rules, company policies and procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and drawings
• Extensive experience in maintenance, breakdown repair, machine upgrades, fault finding and problem solving
• Ability to write reports and complete other written correspondence and communications
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other stakeholders
• Ability to deal with problems involving responding to unplanned events and circumstances by using problem solving methodologies.

Travel within the Western region of Australia will be regular, and to the Eastern region of Australia will be required from time to time
